The Brucker Biofeedback Method
®
The Brucker Biofeedback Method® (BBFM®) , developed in the United States by Dr Bernard S. Brucker, is a special treatment for patients who suffer from damages of the central nervous system i.e. from brain, brainstem and spinal cord.
The Brucker Biofeedback Method enables the visualisation of neuromuscular signals on a computer screen. The brain registers this information and reuses it appropriately for subsequent trials. With the aid of immediate and detailed visual and auditory feedback, patients learn to influence specific movements that previously seemed impossible to control voluntarily.
The Brucker Biofeedback Method® is a rehabilitation method based on operant conditioning and the learning principle of trial and error.
By Using sEMG patients will learn trough the visual and auditory feedback to increase their neuromuscular signals. Once these signals get stronger they will be able to gain more muscle control and functionality.
